As the demand for Packaged Drinking Water is increasing day by day, many illegal water plants are supplying unsafe water to people. In review meeting, held at Deputy Commissioner’s house, it is revealed that many unauthorized water plants were supplying non-potable Packaged Drinking Water in Mysore.
Officials told to the Deputy Commissioner that, many unauthorized water plants are running illegally and supplying untreated borewell water and municipal tap water as pure water to people. According to latest statistics, only 21 water plants in Mysore city and 10 water plants in district are legal.
DC told to the officials to form a raiding team and to take a stringent action against unauthorized packaged drinking water units. DC said that, the permission will be given to the water plants which are strictly following Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) guidelines.
Packaged Drinking Water is in great demand in India. So, many new players are coming in this water industry and the competition is very high also. The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) has launched their first Packaged Drinking Water brand “Sena Jal” on October 11, 2017.
