Here’s good news for common people. On the account of upcoming GST, Coca-Cola has announced its pricing strategy, which will provide better value for money to the consumers. The company has informed to its bottling partners to reduce the price on Packaged Drinking Water ‘Kinley’.
The News article in the India Blooms says that, T Krishnakumar (KK), Business Unit President, Coca-Cola India & South West Asia, said that, as GST has been planned for developing a unified taxation system in the country and to benefit the society at greater extent, they will definitely try to provide right value for money. Even after absorbing a significant portion of increased tax, company has to minimally increase the prices on aerated beverages. They have also assured that they will pass on taxation benefits to the consumers.
The officials further added that, soon they will launch an affordable ‘Value Water’ segment which will be cheaper than current portfolio of Kinley water and will also launch affordable range of aerated beverages for the common people.
This Goods and Services Tax (GST) will come into force on 1 July 2017. It will be applicable for Packaged Drinking Water too. But it is certainly a great initiative by our Govt. This will help to push India’s growth story forward.
